On tropical mountains of Serra da Mantiqueira in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, 1,200 m, 532mila square meters of land – of which only ten percent is not subject to environmental protection – welcoming this holiday house, designed for a couple with three grown children who loves to have many friends.
The project is a complex of three separate buildings, while fully respecting of the surrounding landscape, designed by young architects Brazilian Fernando Forte, Lourenço Gimenes and Rodrigo Marcondes Ferraz. The main building, on one level, is situated above a valley and a bridge between two hills, suspended on 89 pillars of different heights. If the ground surrounding the house is great, the interior of the building is generous, with 5 independent suites (11 rooms), common areas and services through pergolas and gardens are integrated with each other as an irregular grid.
One of the characteristics of this house is that you enter it without abandoning entirely the outside, you go from side to side going into the house in full, empty and pathways of water, or under the house where vegetation runs free and wild and over the roof-garden that blends into the surrounding nature, by the landscape project Fernando Chacel and Sidney Linhares.
25 percent of two thousand square feet of space built and transitional indoor / outdoor connecting environments, without compromising privacy. By contrast, the pavilions for common activities (home theater, gym, sauna, BBQ) occupy an area of over one thousand square meters and seem to take flight from the hill where rest also offering spectacular views of the Serra da Mantiqueira. Among the buildings, finally, a grassy square is open used as a dance floor.
