During the decades of 1950 and 60’s, a large number of the modernist architects and designers, among them were Mies Van Der Rohe, Richard Neutra and Charles and Ray Eames accepted the task of constructing model of houses that not too expensive but very efficient and elegant. Everything as a part of an architectural experiment.

The result was a rectangular house; most of them are in California, and known as the Case Study Houses. The very contemporary Scholl Residence designed by Studio B Architects in Aspen, Colorado; it expands much more beyond the concepts of low cost and efficient lifestyle as the typical houses of Case Study Houses. This residence also has amenities and very modern.

Constructed in the middle of the mountains, the rectangular house was built on a very limited space, and terrain of the hill has many problems to the drainage system.

Essential details and innovations that have made to the self-sufficient house were successfully incorporated into the structure of the building.

Materials like the zinc panels, the precast concrete, aluminum frames and sliding glass windows were used in the outside, while for the inside used polished wood and marble floors.

The owner of the house is an art collector who wanted a spacious house to  presume its exquisite collections.
