Eco-building

In Philadelphia (USA) there is a green building, its name is Thin Flats is the first in the world to mix a five-star assessment with regard to environmental sustainability.
Team Onion Flats in Philadelphia, in fact, upgrading the old Northern Liberties neighborhood, and has recovered completely abandoned and crumbling old buildings, turning them into a complex of eight apartments worth the certification guidelines for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The building is completely integrated with the city that houses it, has a facade “double skin” where elements of cladding and alternate openings with a thermal function. The glass surfaces has in fact, during the summer works as a “solar chimney” while the openings allow air circulation. Even the entire frame structure, wood and aluminum, plays a thermal.
The complex then tries to bring in the climate and weather in order to minimize the emissions for heating and cooling. A ground radial system does the rest with a heat pump system that allows hot water to circulate at low temperature in winter and cold water in summer. During the winter, the plant is able to use the hot water generated by solar panels and not used for sanitation purposes. It thus further reduces the needs for energy and, consequently, emissions of gases that affect climate.
The condo also has echoes of a tank for collecting rainwater and controlled management of water and energy consumption.
