The building is facing north for the best exposure to the sun during the day, tempered house in the winter months and naturally illuminate the interior room, which in turn are protected from the sun exposure on a hot summer day, through the design of a large roof.
For this house that was one large continuous garden design that wraps in its whole and seen from the inside, inviting contemplation of the landscape, which is constituted mainly due to the presence of the city of Concon, the estuary of the Aconcagua and the dunes of Ritoque. One of the biggest challenges was to maintain the continuity of the courtyard garden – and all the enclosures oriented to the north, for it was necessary to make flying, ie, suspended in the air and without support, of the second floor, thus creating a roof terrace on the first level.
Taking advantage of the slope, we designed a wooden deck at the top level that allows for continuity and the link between house and garden. To carry out this work, was necessary to have a mixed structure (85% steel and 15% reinforced concrete), to the contrary had not made possible. This will request the engineering project and manufacture of the structure AMCS, a company specializing in the design and construction of high-standard structures, who made possible a work requiring lightness, thinness, low cost and speed of execution.
The construction of the house was handled by DPC, a construction company that made possible the realization of a project that is far from a conventional home. The structure of the house, which is steel, is made entirely in the factory and installed as a mechanism within seven hours, with a tolerance of 2 mm.
The steel structure is allowed to incorporate an external wall exterior thermal insulation system of high-end, which allows energy savings and improved thermal comfort. The latter, plus the possibility of future structure of the house can be recycled, make this building is very environmentally friendly.
