Sierra Bonita Apartments Eco House Design in Hollywood
Tighe Architecture has created a rather ambitious project. The architectural firm of Patrick Tighe has indeed built an apartment complex of ecological sign at a location in which we are accustomed to thinking of all that is far from responsible development: In West Hollywood.
The complex is called Sierra Bonita Affordable Housing and is a five-story building consists of 42 apartments for different uses. There are housing units, designed to be ‘affordable’ that is accessible to people with limited economic capacity and commercial spaces nonprofit overlooking the boulevard on the ground floor. The building is in fact located in West Hollywood, on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard, in one of the most famous of Los Angeles.
There are gardens around the building and on the roof and the courtyard is a small forest of bamboo, which creates a cool microclimate. The facade is designed to take advantage of sunlight to produce energy and water heating is due to heat energy. In addition, each room is designed to receive a large amount of natural light.
The Sierra Bonita is therefore an example of bio construction, ecological and sustainable, a pleasant surprise in the Hollywood landscape.
