The Collection of new home built by Vitrahaus at Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, a new structure near the Vitra Design Museum designed by Frank Gehry (1989) and Conference Center by Tadao Ando (1993). Signed by Herzog and de Meuron to open the doors to the public in Germany.
The architects have proposed an innovative model of a typical house to vitrahaus new home collection, is understood as a composition of five floors – two walls, two layers and sloping floors. Series suggests visitors starting from the top floor, accessible by elevator. Trail leads down through the various plans, finally returning to the point of departure. Circuit gradually gives way to understand that the proper distribution and proper orientation of the various units, far from being random, deliberately framed in a particular part of the surrounding landscape.
Articulation of interior space to respond to the need to integrate both the geometric concept: the flight of stairs is actually obtained by twisting the volume of organic and expressive of a path through successive levels of the building, “Herod” like a worm, sometimes spectacular visually express the relationship between different units, sometimes interposing overall vision.
VitraHaus showed different appearance depending on the day and night. If during the day from inside the building tend to look to the scene outside, dusk-lit interior, especially visible, while the outer forms of the building gradually dissolve in the darkness. Rooms enlarged and then the windows of the converted into a lantern-spired that lit windows and still alive Vitra Campus and the surrounding landscape.
The first building was designed by Zaha Hadid Vitra. Nicholas Grimshaw, Alvaro Siza and Sanaa designed every production warehouse. Campus is also home construction, which was signed by Richard Buckminster Fuller, Jean Prouvé and Jasper Morrison.
