Masdar City, 100% environmentally friendly city near Abu Dhabi

In the middle of the desert, 17 km from , Masdar City will be born entirely eco-city of the future. The goal is to build a city that truly carbon neutral, which acts only through renewable energy. This project’s city will participate Fosters + Partners, among others, a sheikh and MIT in Boston, which will make it one of the central office in the future. is actually designed to accommodate 50 000 people, including companies and research institutions.

The project is ambitious to say the least and if it is completed as planned is really incredible. Masdar City will become the first city truly zero emissions, no waste and oil. Energy that will be accessible by 90 percent by photovoltaic panels and 80 percent of the water and most of the waste will be recycled. The goal is to become the world center of clean energy. To maximize resources and reduce energy waste, the architect heading the project, no less than Norman Foster, will make a model of intelligent design. This model will reduce the use of artificial lighting and not waste too many resources climate, the city was destined from the location to be hot, will build upon the architecture of traditional Arab cities with narrow streets and shading. This will also improve environmental quality.

This major project is also surprising because the city has risen a few kilometers from Abu Dhabi, the metropolis some ecological and built through the oil trade. Currently there are only Masdar Institute, which recently has begun working to implement and design for Masdar City, but to see the city is finished we have to wait until at least 2020.
